Jam in the Dam is BACK after taking a year off. Fans will once again be flying across the pond to take part in "The Festival that Changed the Rules". This year's JITD will feature Umphrey's McGee, Les Claypool, Yonder Mountain String Band, The New Mastersounds, The Bridge, and 30db (Brendan Bayliss & Jeff Austin). Jam in the Dam will be held March 21-23 at the world famous Melkweg in Amsterdam, NL. Featuriing a long set from each band every night all in friendly, English speaking Amsterdam. Interesting feature on the excellent All Music blog. Now that elements of the classic funk/soul sound are showing up again on mainstream records, journalists are starting to connect the dots. It's a shame Top of the Pops was axed from BBC1 - they'd surely have had us on there miming to One Note Brown.

This apparently rather charming film, starring Morgan Freeman, is on general release in the UK this month. If you stay for the end credits you'll hear our track 'Your Love is Mine' featuring the vocal delights of Corinne Bailey Rae. The song was originally released on our 2003 album 'Be Yourself' and then again as a single in 2006.

Simon played drums for Corinne Bailey Rae on a recording session for BBC Radio One's 'Established 1967' album. High profile artists were approached and asked to pick a tune from a particular year to cover. Corinne had chosen the 2006 Raconteurs track 'Steady as She Goes'. Also on the recording were ex-NMS organist Bob Birch, Roughneck bassist Neil Innes, and Ben Barker - from the Haggis Horns - on guitar. The session was recorded at Hall Place Studios in Leeds by NMS regular engineer Richard Formby.
