Yesterday was the first day of recording for the new album. Lots of new tunes and grooves in the pipeline, and our photographer chum Dan Medhurst is on hand to document the whole silly process.
We've been practicing our Christmas dance routine all year.

This apparently rather charming film, starring Morgan Freeman, is on general release in the UK this month. If you stay for the end credits you'll hear our track 'Your Love is Mine' featuring the vocal delights of Corinne Bailey Rae. The song was originally released on our 2003 album 'Be Yourself' and then again as a single in 2006.
Simon played drums for Corinne Bailey Rae on a recording session for BBC Radio One's 'Established 1967' album. High profile artists were approached and asked to pick a tune from a particular year to cover. Corinne had chosen the 2006 Raconteurs track 'Steady as She Goes'. Also on the recording were ex-NMS organist Bob Birch, Roughneck bassist Neil Innes, and Ben Barker - from the Haggis Horns - on guitar. The session was recorded at Hall Place Studios in Leeds by NMS regular engineer Richard Formby.
